Sherford photographer Martyn Norsworthy has gained international recognition at this year's PX-3 Prix de la Paris International Photographic competition.
Martyn, who lives in West Alvington, has gained "Honourable Mention" status for two of this year's entries.
The award-winning photographer had four images in the final, and says he is "overjoyed" to be awarded with this accolade.
Each category has a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place as well as "Honourable Mentions"; these are entries which are deemed worthy of recognition by the jury of judges from all over the world including gallery owners and picture editors from leading magazines.
Each year the PX-3 publish books of its winners, with the "Honourable Mentions" listed at the back.
The two winning images were both shot locally; one is of a fine old oak tree at West Charleton, while the other is of a bride gazing out to sea at Slapton Sands.
Public voting is still open; people can register their votes by logging on to www.px3.fr and registering as a voter.
Martyn set up his photography business only two years ago, and last year won a UK competition as well as receiving three "Honourable Mentions" in the 2007 PX-3.
He is an active member of the Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers, as well as supplying many images to national and regional magazines.
Martyn, who studied photography 15 years ago at Plymouth College of Art and Design, has a studio in Sherford.
