Award-winning Sherford photographer Martyn Norsworthy is celebrating after making it to the finals of the prestigious PX-3 Prix de la Paris International Photographic competition for the second year in a row.
The competition is extremely well supported, with entries coming from all over the world.
In 2007, Martyn entered five images, and was lucky enough to have four put through to the final, with three of the images gaining "Honourable Mention" status, awarded by the judges for outstanding work worthy of a mention.
This year, Martyn is hoping to put Kingsbridge on the map. He has four images, two of which are landscape prints, one of a misty morning at Bowcombe, the other being the fine old oak tree at West Charleton.
If his work ends up in the top three it will go on show in the Paris Gallery which is hosting the awards and will also be published in the annual PX-3 Book.
Finalists' images are whittled down from thousands of entries to just under a thousand
A delighted Martyn said: "I am very proud to have reached the final two years running, and can't wait to hear if I have got either first, second or third place."
He added: "To get all four images through is amazing."
Public votes are now taking place for the public choice awards, a separate part of the competition. Last year saw more than 39,481 votes being cast. Voters can register at www.px3.fr.
Martyn, who studied photography 15 years ago at Plymouth College of Art and Design, lives in West Alvington but has a studio in Sherford.
